Nal von minden has delivered rapid tests of the highest quality for over 30 years and LabTeamet is the Swedish distributor of all their rapid tests. Their COVID-19 NADAL® Ag Rapid Test is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay. Therefore, the test is used for a qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2, viral nucleoprotein antigens in human nasal, nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal samples. Rapid testing for COVID-19 (Corona) is an excellent way to work preventively, to avoid spreading the infection and to catch infected people at an early stage. Note that the concentration of viral nucleoprotein antigen may vary during the course of the disease and may fall below the detection limit of the test. Therefore, a negative antigen test result cannot exclude a possible infection.

What is the difference between the IgG/IgM Rapid Test and the Ag Rapid Test?

The COVID-19 NADAL® IgG/IgM Rapid Test* detects the virus indirectly. In contrast, the COVID-19 NADAL® Ag Rapid Test detects it directly by looking at the presence of specific proteins from the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Thus, antigen detection closes a diagnostic gap.

* For an ideal virus detection, Nucleocapsid protein (N-protein) is used which is present in higher abundance compared to other SARS-CoV-2 proteins which is specific enough to be used in diagnosis. This is one of the 4 major structural proteins and is involved in replication, transcription and packaging of the viral genome.
