GS Biotech® 170 Gold – CO2 incubator Volume 170 liters
This incubator has a capacity of 170 liters and is designed to optimize lab work, despite a limited bench space.
Scotland based GS Biotech, designs and manufactures a range of CO2 Cell Culture incubators. The range currently consists of:- 14, 48 and 170 liter chamber capacities.
All models are descendants of the first six-sided direct heat incubators. GS Biotech has built on this series with a smart mix of older and new technology to build maximum quality, reliability, performance and choice in the series – at a reasonable price.
The series is designed around a scalable architecture and offers the following as standard:
- Optimal chamber environment, profiled heating creates a gentle circulation – no fan or HEPA filter. Optimal environment for your samples. Reduced risk of contamination.
- Seamless chamber walls with rounded corners for quick and easy cleaning
- Removable shelves – stable and flexible
- Sealed glass inner door to view the contents without affecting the samples.

The security features of the control system include
- Independent overtemperature switching
- Calibration and programmed data have internal backup to protect against loss

Optional on the 170 liter model:
- High temperature disinfection (4 h at 120 °C)
- This runs for 4h at 120°C before cooling down naturally and allowing normal use again.
- Divided glass inner door

- O2 control
- Available range 1-19% or 0.1-19%
- Both control systems consist of nitrogen injection (Nitrogen) to control to the desired O2 level in the chamber.
- Warning of water level in the humidity trough (vannan)
- An optional optical level sensor monitors the water level of the humidity tray. Alarms are given by an audible signal.
- It detects the water level and alarms so that there is always water in the humidity tray (alarms so that there is always water for more than 2 days of normal use.
- Cooling system
- This option allows the incubator to run at temperatures 10°C below room temperature.
Our 170L option offers a large form factor which is ideal for both medium and large labs. Standard features included with the 170L option include:
