GS Biotech® 170 Gold – CO2 incubator Volume 170 liters

This incubator has a capacity of 170 liters and is designed to optimize lab work, despite a limited bench space.

Scotland based GS Biotech, designs and manufactures a range of CO2 Cell Culture incubators. The range currently consists of:- 14, 48 and 170 liter chamber capacities.
All models are descendants of the first six-sided direct heat incubators. GS Biotech has built on this series with a smart mix of older and new technology to build maximum quality, reliability, performance and choice in the series – at a reasonable price.

The series is designed around a scalable architecture and offers the following as standard:

Optimal chamber environment, profiled heating creates a gentle circulation – no fan or HEPA filter. Optimal environment for your samples. Reduced risk of contamination.
Seamless chamber walls with rounded corners for quick and easy cleaning
Removable shelves – stable and flexible
Sealed glass inner door to view the contents without affecting the samples.
Temperature range programmable between 4°C above room temperature up to 50°C
Infrared CO2 sensor with automatic self-reference function.
CO2 level programmable between 0.2 to 20%
Large easy-to-read LCD display with LED backlight.
Removable, seamless stainless steel humidity tray (vanna) as humidity reservoir.
25mm access port to insert cables etc.
HEPA filtration for all incoming gases
Large number of accessories allows you to configure each incubator for its task.
Data logging and control of temperature with reporting for QA and verification purposes.

The security features of the control system include

Independent overtemperature switching
Calibration and programmed data have internal backup to protect against loss
Integrated alarm functions

Optional on the 170 liter model:

High temperature disinfection (4 h at 120 °C)
- This runs for 4h at 120°C before cooling down naturally and allowing normal use again.
Divided glass inner door
- 4 inner doors allow more frequent door openings with minimal impact on the environment of the chamber.
_O2 control
- Available range 1-19% or 0.1-19%
- Both control systems consist of nitrogen injection (Nitrogen) to control to the desired O2 level in the chamber.
Warning of water level in the humidity trough (vannan)
- An optional optical level sensor monitors the water level of the humidity tray. Alarms are given by an audible signal.
- It detects the water level and alarms so that there is always water in the humidity tray (alarms so that there is always water for more than 2 days of normal use.
Cooling system
- This option allows the incubator to run at temperatures 10°C below room temperature.

Our 170L option offers a large form factor which is ideal for both medium and large labs. Standard features included with the 170L option include:

As well as these standard features, our 170L offering can be configured to include:

High Temperature Decontamination Cycle
This option takes the internal temperature to 120°C and maintains this temperature for 4hrs before natural cooling to allow normal function.

4-Inner Door Option
4 Inner doors allow chamber conditions to be more readily maintained when frequent entry is required to the chamber.

Oxygen Control
2 Oxygen control options are available: 1-19% & 0.1-19%
Both control systems consist of nitrogen injection to accurately control the desired below ambient Oxygen level.

Humidity Tray Warning
An optical level sensor is an option that monitors humidity tray water level, this consists of an audible alarm. The detection level provides in excess of 2 days normal operation loss so as to accommodate long weekend periods of non attendance.
